Quick Fix Snack – Midnight Guacamole

I was craving for a snack shortly after midnight.  Another one of my quick fix recipes would be guacamole.  Doing a search on recipes sites has led to many different versions of guacamoles.  Other than the main ingredient avocado, you can pretty much do whatever you want with it.  Here is my version of this tasty, filling snack (or dip as most people would use it as!).

You don’t have to eat it with chips, this side dish with pasta or rice would be perfect pairing too!

Making guacamole would likely require a trip to the grocery store as some of the items are not common to have in the kitchen such as avocadoes since they ripe easily.

  • 3 or 4 ripe avocadoes
  • one lime for fresh lime juice (to keep avocado from turning brown)
  • cilantro
  • roma tomatoes
  • red onion
  • hot sauce (tasbasco or Frank’s red hot)

Optional ingredients:

  • finely chopped garlic
  • chopped green onions
  • chopped celery (although not common in this recipe, this adds a nice crunch to the guac)

Mash everything together! If the avocadoes are ripe enough, you do not need to get a mixer and can easily mash it with a fork easily.   Chunky or smooth guac is a preference.
