Labels Review – Emily Press Labels

Labels are neatly stapled in booklets.

Emily Press Labels offered a discount coupon online  recently which was $15 for $30 worth of products so I decided to give it a try.  I find kids’ labels quite costly so this was a good opportunity for me to order some since Little Patch was starting daycare.  I ordered the Popular Name Labels and the Slim Name Labels.  The photos on their website gave me ideas on where I can use them.

There was a bit of a delivery hiccup (no fault of EP) which they immediately dealt with right away.  The service was great even though we communicated through Twitter, and I felt I was talking to a mom rather than a sales rep for a corporation.  They are a local company based in Vancouver, BC.

The labels come in cute little booklets, pages neatly stapled together.  The labels were surprisingly thin and the glue is strong.  I had to re-adjust the label a few times on a sippy cup and it stayed in its place after the final adjustment.  After daily washing for over a week, the labels still stayed in place and I wasn’t able to peel them off.  However, there may be some glue residue on the edges as after a day of having the sippy cup in a backpack, there were  minor dust and crumbs stuck around it.  But after washing, it’s all good again.

As for clothing labels, if you don’t care about designs, I had an earlier post about Name Label clothing labels which is a bang-on deal.

Our Choice of Diapers

After my review on the diapers that we tried in the sample pack, we’ve decided to go with something that we have not tested out.   Hemp diapers.  There are so many reasons why we decided to go with hemp.  They are more expensive than cotton but these are the reasons that changed our minds:

  • stronger than cotton
  • breathable
  • has natural antibacterial ingredients

Here is a video to show how easy it is to use hemp diapers!

The covers can be bought at your local baby store for about $10 each.  We have 5 covers for 30 cloth diapers. Even if the cover is waterproof, I still wash it often and change into a new one because the trim is not waterproof so it can absorb pee.

We also have a couple of AIO (All In One) diapers from Kushies for days when all the covers are soiled.  You can get them from BRU or TJ Kids for about $12 each.  No cover is required and they work exactly like a disaposable.  AIO diapers are a great way to see if you can handle using cloth diapers before committing to the switch.  AIOs are not as absorbant and leak-proof as hemp or cotton diapers.

New and Green Diapers Sample Pack Review

Last month, we picked up the sample cloth diapers from New & Green Baby Co. For about $200, we got a sample pack for 2 months to see which type of diapers we want to go with.

Baby Cloths Review

You can never have too many wash cloths around the house. They are not always used for washing but rather for wiping up spit ups, milk and other baby messes. After a month of using different brands of cloths, here is what’s left of the wipes.  Read the rest of this entry
